Persistent facial redness, heat sensations and uneven texture are often perceived as surface concerns. Yet in inflamed, rosacea-prone skin, these visible signs can reflect a deeper biological cascade involving vascular reactivity, immune signalling, barrier fragility and microbiome imbalance.
When these mechanisms reinforce one another, the skin may operate with a lower threshold of tolerance. Redness becomes more persistent, recovery slows and the complexion can appear irregular, reactive and inflamed. In this case supervised by Sarah Toone, Skin Aesthetics Practitioner, the objective was to support inflamed, redness-prone skin by lowering visible reactivity, reinforcing barrier function and improving the skin’s capacity to maintain balance over time.
Clinical focus

Inflamed skin, including rosacea-prone skin, reflects a complex biological cascade involving microbiome imbalance, immune overactivation, barrier fragility and dysregulated inflammatory signalling.
Photographs were taken at T0 baseline and T8, week 8. The protocol was conducted under the supervision of Sarah Toone and combined daily oral intake of The Skin Biotic nutraceutical, one sachet per day, with twice-daily application of The Gentle Cleanser and The Active Cream.
The clinical priorities were:

How AWvi supported the skin

In this case, it supported comfort, barrier recovery and visible resilience.

Visible evolution
After eight weeks, the skin appeared visibly calmer, with reduced diffuse redness and a more even skin appearance. The complexion looked less reactive and more homogeneous, suggesting improved inflammatory regulation and barrier recovery.
This case illustrates why inflamed skin should not be approached only through visible redness. When vascular reactivity, immune signalling, barrier weakness and microbial imbalance interact, the skin requires support across the biological systems that influence resilience and recovery.
By combining The Skin Biotic, The Gentle Cleanser and The Active Cream, the protocol helped support the skin from within and at the surface, creating more favourable conditions for reduced reactivity, improved tolerance and visible balance over time.
